Jackson had to endure his dreaded x-rays again, but praise God, the stents are still in place. Other than that, the needed tests couldn't be done because they require fasting and Jackson had eaten in the afternoon. So the only other thing the doctors could do was administer a double dose of blood pressure medicine.
Darrell said that Jackson was very upset about being at the hospital, but praise God again, he was released last night and will have the tests as an outpatient next week.
In April, Jackson began taking a double dose of his medicine every morning and evening, and now he'll be taking a quadruple dose in the evening. With the stents in place and the large doses of medicine, it's a mystery why his blood pressure keeps climbing. Please pray that our omniscient God will reveal the answers that the doctors are seeking.
And now for the birthday that was not the norm for a boy turning 12 . . . It started out with a typical birthday meal of pizza at Double Dave's, but then we granted Jackson's birthday wish by taking him to Victoria's Secret.
I've mentioned previously his obsession with body spray, and that's all he wanted for his birthday. He researches sprays online and had decided to add some from Victoria's Secret to his ever-expanding collection.
Jackson was so happy in that store. He selected six sprays and examined many others to make sure he was satisfied with his selection. Angy and I were enjoying watching him and were snapping pictures (as everyone does at a child's birthday celebration). It wasn't until later when I was viewing the pictures that I noticed people in the background staring at us.
They could have no idea how much it thrilled us to see Jackson bouncing happily out the door holding his pink shopping bag from Victoria's Secret. We knew he had gotten his heart's desire. Now if we can just teach him moderation in using his sprays!
